The space
Impeccably appointed! Cook in the fully equipped kitchen with soapstone countertops or enjoy the fresh mountain air while grilling outside. Gaze out over nature and stunning mountain views from the massive wrap-around deck and covered porches, or get cozy in the great room by the gas fireplace. There are also board games, puzzles and high speed streaming services available for rainy days. Large windows bring the mountain landscape indoors. You don’t have to be outside to enjoy the great outdoors!
Red Brook Retreat provides complete comfort and climate control with ceiling fans, zone specific heating and air conditioning and back up forced hot air heat. Whole house generator also ready to go in the unlikely event it is needed.
Snowmobilers take notice - snowmobile trail access within a couple hundred yards of the cabin. You can sled right out the front door and down the private road connecting onto nearly 7000 miles of New Hampshire Snowmobile Association trails! Please note that these same trails are off limits to ATVs/quads. Closest (and fantastic) ATV trails are in Gorham, NH.
Guest access
20 mph speed limit on the road leading up to the cabin is strictly enforced for safety purposes and out of respect to full-time residents on the road.
Max 3 vehicles per booking. No parking on the road. There is ample parking available at the property, but may be tighter squeeze if a lot of snow. Please carpool and plan accordingly.
4WD/AWD absolutely required during winter months for travel up and down the gravel road due to snow and ice. If you don't have a 4WD/AWD vehicle with good tires, please consider renting one prior to leaving for your trip. You are staying in the mountains, and a Honda Civic is not going to cut it up here. Jefferson is a small town with spaced out properties. It may take some time for help to arrive if you get stuck, so best to be prepared. Adjust your travel plans accordingly with the weather. We also recommend you use winter shoe grippers/spikes when hiking along the road/trails as it can be slippery. Also, only the Left two-thirds of the road is plowed during the winter and the other side is maintained for snowmobile use. You will need to drive slow and cooperate with any oncoming traffic.
Please keep in mind that you have chosen to vacation in the mountains. Bugs are abundant here outside the winter months. Please do your best to keep windows/doors closed.
